1. I have archived much of my life through collected objects.
2. I have moved a smaller studio, making it necessary that I get rid of a lot of these objects.
3. I have done so by using them as the raw material for one enormous collage, created inside a 30-yard dumpster.
4. Oh, also, I have photographed around 500 of these objects and will display them here, accompanied by a brief history of each item.

HAVE DUMPSTER, NEED HELP

I have The Dumpster, I have a studio in which to produce it, and I have a venue in which to show it.
The Dumpster Project will be featured in the Dumbo Arts Festival (http://dumboartsfestival.com/) opening SEPTEMBER 23rd.
SO NOW I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP.
I have until September. I need to get going.
So far we have raised $1315 toward the goal of $10,000 to make this happen.  But I still need to rent a fork lift and operator to place this thing properly; I need to buy a table saw; I need to buy all the framing materials to build this thing out; I need to design and build a roof...
The time is now, the dumpster is in place, the clock is ticking. Please help. Click the orange button toward the top of the site to make a TAX DEDUCTIBLE donation.
It must be noted:
That I have this dumpster and this place to make stuff is due to the astounding generosity of Jiffy Iuen of Frank Collective and David Belt of Macro Sea.

  1. I think you were planning on a smaller dumpster! LOL!

  2. If you should get the 10k, I think it would be better spent on a tax deductible donation to something that matters

  5. Hi Laura, thanks for your suggestion.
What I have set up is fiscal sponsorship from the New York Foundation for the Arts, and they have a fundraising site called Artspire. If one clicks on the orange donation button on the site here, it takes you to a place where you can donate, very similar to Kickstarter. The benefit here is that unlike kickstarter, all the donations are tax deductible.
