I was in Providence, Rhode Island the weekend of the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster, February 1st, 2003. In an antique store on Wickenden street, amidst the old and interesting things, was a recent art publication about photography and irony and the bad flash photography that riddled the early oughts. In that magazine was a half-a-mao. I bought that magazine just for that half-a-mao.
