1. I have archived much of my life through collected objects.
2. I have moved a smaller studio, making it necessary that I get rid of a lot of these objects.
3. I have done so by using them as the raw material for one enormous collage, created inside a 30-yard dumpster.
4. Oh, also, I have photographed around 500 of these objects and will display them here, accompanied by a brief history of each item.

THE DUMPSTER IS BACK IN BROOKLYN AT THE INVISIBLE DOG ART CENTER

Remember how this whole project was predicated on having to move to a smaller studio? Well it turns out that my smaller studio, while indeed small, is in one of the loveliest places in all of Brooklyn: The Invisible Dog Art Center. I am excited and honored that the good folks at the Invisible Dog have invited the Dumpster to be shown in the lot right next door. It will be open now through at least mid-March, Thursday through Sunday, 1 to 5 pm, and by appointment. Since my studio is like 47 feet away, that 'by appointment' bit really means 'drop me an email and I'll come downstairs and if you bring coffee I'll open it up. I like half and half, no sugar. Or better yet, just bring beer.' That's what 'by appointment' means.

    are people allowed to contribute to this collage? I also have a ton of unnecessary lifelong-collected objects..

      Hi Moe
      This collection is complete. A few people have left some things in, which I always really like, but larger contributions are never glued or fixed in. What kind of stuff do you have?

    This is sweet. I kept missing the chance to see it. Depending on how cold it is, I might bring both coffee (to keep the hands warm) and beer with some friends!
