1. I have archived much of my life through collected objects.
2. I have moved a smaller studio, making it necessary that I get rid of a lot of these objects.
3. I have done so by using them as the raw material for one enormous collage, created inside a 30-yard dumpster.
4. Oh, also, I have photographed around 500 of these objects and will display them here, accompanied by a brief history of each item.

UNCLE GEORGE'S BOSTON CAP

19 x 25.7 x 3 cm
My Great Uncle George was my favorite relative to visit when I was a kid. George lived in Vermont in a white house on a hill with a garage full of awesome crap to rummage through. One day, as a baseball obsessed 8-year old, I eagerly asked him if he still had his mitt from when he was a kid.
"Ayup," he answered, as his right fist fell with a slap into the rough and  thick cushion of his left palm.
This was his hat.

  1. Quickly compelled to point out the underrated mesh style that a guy like George might have found comforting on a hot and unrelenting New England summer. But contrary to popular belief, the body does not lose most of its heat through the head, nor through the heart.
